You have unlimited investment opportunities in this world , you only have to decide for the right investment and the right amount of funds to invest in . Starting from basics if you are educated, then you must be knowing the key investment areas like SIP , Stock Investment , Investment in IPO, Investment in Fixed Deposits etc . And if you are least educated , then you might save your funds by investing in real estate , post office schemes or bank savings . But out of all these , you should compare the risk and reward alternatives and the simple less rewarding alternatives .

You might find that more the riskier the investment would be the more you will fetch the reward. The same thought applies on Stock Investment and Mutual fund investment , if you invest in equity of a company today you might be either regretting in future for choosing a bad company which either gave low returns or it gave no returns or you might be partying knowing that you are holding the bullish stock in the meantime. It all depends on your luck and investment technique.

In this post , you will get to know about a new type of investment and about the risk and returns associated with it. It is about Initial Public Offering (IPO) and we shall more focus on the topic , what if your payment gets stuck in the IPO Payment.

Investing and IPO Payments

Initial Public Offering by basic meaning states for offer of the company to the general public to subscribe for their fresh issued capital for a project or for their financial need . People after offering of the company pay to the company and apply for the shares of the company . The entire process is known as IPO .In IPO people through their demat account opened through any broker or stock broking agent can apply for the IPO/ Subscription in the shares of the company .

This can only be done if a demat account is opened in the name of investor and then on the date of issue of IPO , the applicant have to make payment of the IPO online. With the required amount of shares and a particular amount of share price , the IPO is made available to the general public for subscription . On payment of the subscription amount , on a specified date the investor is either allotted the stocks or is given a refund of his payment back onto his account.

On receipt of IPO Investment, the company either issues the stocks on a particular date to the investor and list those stocks on stock exchanges in India like NSE and BSE , and on the very first day the stock trades on a very high level giving maximum returns to the investor .

How Payment for IPO is Done ?

In an IPO, Payment is done through the UPI Facility of the investor where amount of investment is taken by the company or the stock exchange from the bank account of the investor . But actually in IPO Investment no payment is to be made to the company which is issuing the IPO , it;s just that only the amount which the investor wants to invest gets deducted from the bank account of Investor and is put aside as blocked amount by the bank in name of the company . This has been made for the safety of the investor , so that no company could default in making refund of the payment of IPO to the investor.

If you invest in an IPO , you have to make an application in your demat account like if you are using zerodha then you have to go to the profile option and select the IPO for which you have to invest and in the Angel Broking account you have to go to the app and on the left side click on IPO where you will find all the latest IPOs in which you can invest , once you bid for the IPO (Always BID for the highest price ) and select the bank account from which you want to make the payment for the IPO . Once you successfully submit the IPO Investment application then you have to go onto BHIM UPI Application on your mobile.

On BHIM app , you have to go to the IPO option and make payment on the request made your demat broker for the IPO. Its done , now you have invested in an IPO.

Refund of IPO Payment

Talking about where your fund goes in an IPO . It goes no where , it is put aside by your bank for some time which is known as ‘mandate’ period and once you have been alloted the IPO , your funds are deposited to the account of the company and you become a shareholder of the company. In case , you are not alloted the IPO , you are given a refund of your IPO Payment.

If somehow, even after the mandate period your IPO payment is stuck and is not remitted back onto your bank account then you have to email to the IPO Company with the help of which the listed company has made its IPO . It means you have to find and email to the IPO agent of the company for refund payment and if in any case you are not provided any response you can contact BHIM UPI IPO branch to confirm for refund of your payment or you have to email on bhim upi for removal of mandate from your account and issue of your refund.
